COBURG – Around 3,500 fans gathered on the historic Schlossplatz for an evening filled with nostalgia, singalong moments, and the unmistakable sound of Roxette. Under a warm summer sky, the open-air setting provided the perfect backdrop for a concert that bridged generations, celebrating decades of global pop success.

Before the headliners took the stage, supporting act Siiri set the tone with an authentic and heartfelt performance. The German country-rock and Americana project, rooted in the rural Sauerland region, brought a refreshing contrast to the evening. Blending folk, country, and rock influences, their songs—shaped by life on a family forestry farm—offered a grounded, organic sound that resonated with the early crowd. It was a fitting opener: honest, warm, and unmistakably local.

As the lights dimmed and anticipation peaked, the first notes of “The Big L.” signaled the start of a journey through Roxette’s extensive catalog. From the driving energy of “Sleeping In My Car” to the polished pop of “Dressed For Success,” the setlist quickly established a rhythm that rarely slowed.

The Coburg audience proved both loyal and loud, singing along to classics like “Crash! Boom! Bang!” and “Wish I Could Fly.” Emotional highlights came with “Fading Like A Flower” and “It Must Have Been Love,” where thousands of voices merged into one, turning the square into a chorus of shared memories.

“It must have been love, but it’s over now…”

Positioned as one of the evening’s defining moments, the iconic ballad underscored the timeless connection between the music and its audience—decades after its release.

The band maintained a strong balance between upbeat anthems and reflective pieces. Tracks like “How Do You Do!” and “Dangerous” reignited the crowd’s energy, while “Joyride” closed the main set on a high note, with fans dancing and clapping along.

The encore delivered exactly what the audience hoped for. “Listen To Your Heart” brought another emotional peak before “The Look” and “Queen Of Rain” provided a powerful and memorable finale, sending fans home with melodies still echoing through the Coburg night.
